As a trans filmmaker under the school of thought that cinema is a medium of pure sensory experience, Heather gravitates towards stories told through digital experimentation, decrepit locales, meta narrative, and more. Having graduated from Emerson College while working as an intern/production assistant for Blumhouse, A24, Apple TV+, and Ghost House Pictures, Landsman has written, directed, edited and produced numerous films, including a feature length archival documentary titled THE BEST OF ME. Premiering at Spectacle, Roxy Cinema, WHAMMY! Analog Media, Dancing Fireman Pictures, The Film-Makers’ Cooperative, PhilaMOCA, and the Plaza Theatre in 2025, the film chronicles the final days of the Bjork stalker, Ricardo Lopez. The documentary’s success led Heather to being included in 2025’s Filmmaker Magazine 25 New Faces of Independent Film list. Premiering at Fantastic Fest 2026 and the 64th New York Film Festival, Landsman’s latest work is a short lesbian erotic thriller titled ee.
